Falls Sie Fragen dazu haben, kontaktieren Sie uns bitte vor Ihrem Besuch am Konsulat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>W\u00e4hrend Ihres Besuches am Konsulat \u00fcberpr\u00fcft der Honorarkonsul die Dokumente im Original und verifiziert Ihre Identit\u00e4t und die Korrektheit aller beigebrachten Kopien.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bei Reisepassantr\u00e4gen f\u00fcr ein Kind unter 12 Jahren m\u00fcssen Sie, ihr Ehepartner und das Kind pers\u00f6nlich erscheinen. Alternativ dazu kann ein Ehepartner den Antrag im Vorhinein unterschreiben, allerdings muss die Unterschrift notariell beglaubigt sein.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nach Ihrem Termin senden Sie Passfotos, alle Formulare im Original und alle beigelegten Dokumente in Kopie an das Generalkonsulat in New York. Wir empfehlen Fedex, weil die korrekte Zustellung verl\u00e4sslicher ist. Sie legen auch ein Fedex Retouretikett bei, au\u00dfer, Sie beabsichtigen die ausgestellten Doumente pers\u00f6nlich am Generalkonsulat abzuholen. There are several sub-categories available (i.e self-employment, highly qualified, &#8230;). Information is available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.workinaustria.com\/en\/residence-employment\/red-white-red-card\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Red-White-Red-Card Residence Permit<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t plan on working, a residence permit <em>except gainful employment<\/em> (Niederlassungsbewilligung &#8211; <em>ausgenommen Erwerbst\u00e4tigkeit<\/em>) may be the right way forward. However, these permits are subject to an annual quota. The general conditions for granting a settlement permit must be met, and a quota slot must be available. Quota slots are assigned on a first come &#8211; first served basis, starting at the beginning of the year. General information on the \u201cresidence permit except gainful employment\u201d can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmi.gv.at\/312_EN\/22\/start.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Settlement permit except gainful employment<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may also contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.workinaustria.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Austrian Business Agency<\/a> or the authorities in Austria overseeing immigration (immigration office of the state you plan to settle, i.e. MA35 in Vienna). US citizens can travel to Austria and stay there for 90 in 180 days without a visa. You may file an application for a residence permit directly with the authority there. Please note that you will have to leave the country if the decision of the authority isn\u2019t made during the visa-free stay.
