Important<\/strong>: Please do not schedule appointments for any kind of visa application, or for passports for persons older than 12 years<\/strong>, or for other services not explicitly listed below. You must schedule an appointment with the Consulate General in NYC for visas, and for new or renewed passports if the person is older than 12 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please bring the exact amount for the total fees in cash only<\/strong>. Venmo and similar apps, personal checks, or credit cards cannot be accepted as forms of payment. The Consulate General publishes the currently active fee schedule on their website<\/a>. Please check this page for the latest fee schedule prior to your visit. Due to fluctuations in exchange rates, fees are adjusted at least monthly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Passport (minors up to 12 years of age)<\/summary>\n

Please note: The application for minors of any age (up to the age of 18) requires an in-person visit and an appointment, without exceptions. Regardless of age, the minor must also be present in person<\/strong> at the application to establish his\/her identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passports for minors are issued with the following period of validity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

up to the age of 2 years:<\/strong> passport validity 2 years (free of charge for the first passport)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

from 2 to 12 years of age:<\/strong> passport validity 5 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

from the age of 12:<\/strong> passport validity 10 years (application only at the Consulate General NYC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For minors under 14 years of age, the passport must be applied for by the legal representative; both parents must sign on the application form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minors over 14 years of age can apply for a passport themselves, with the written consent of both parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case of non-perpetual marriage, the divorce decree must be included with the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Austrian Honorary Consulate Boston can only process applications for passports only for children up to the age of 12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All applications submitted to Honorary Consulate will be forwarded to the Consulate General New York for further processing. Therefore, a longer processing time is to be expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
